A week ago we had a press conference with the most promising Finnish sailors such as Sari Multala, Silja Lehtinen with her crew and Lauri Lehtinen & Kalle Bask participating. The sailors are really looking forward to these Championships. Not often is sailing brought that near the spectator as the finals will be. We got good publicity in the news. Broadcasting the Championships has also taken a step forward by agreeing with the Finnish Broadcasting Company YLE that they will send all the finals. How to distribute the finals internationally is being negotiated.

We now have sailors from all over Finland signing up to participate in the arrangements. Open Europeans will be the main topic during the Sailing Days 27th November. On the agenda we have among others Madis Ausman from the Estonian Yachting Union who will talk about Experiences from arranging Olympic Class Championships. The event is arranged in co-operation with the Finnish Sailing Federation.
